Julie has spent more than three decades building the kind of civic life that doesn't show up in a headline — commissions, boards, and school events — before ever running for office.
Julie Testa has called Pleasanton home for more than 34 years. Alongside her husband, Nick, she owns and runs a small business in the community [Edit: name/type of business if you want it listed]. Their three sons attended Pleasanton schools and have since graduated from the University of California.
Long before her first campaign, Julie built a record of civic participation: 11 years as a Human Services Commissioner, and board service with Tri-Valley REACH and the Tri-Valley chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), where she has advocated for families affected by mental illness.
She was first elected to the City Council in November 2018 and re-elected in November 2022 to represent District 3 under the city's district-based election system. She served as vice mayor in 2021 and again beginning December 2023, and currently chairs the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) Board.
